KSG Agro and Genesus Ukraine have signed an annual contract for the supply of 3.5 thousand pigs of Canadian Genesus genetics. This was reported by the press service of the agricultural holding.
KSG Agro, through Strong Invest LLC, which is responsible for the pig breeding business in the holding, and Genesus Ukraine signed an annual contract for the supply of 3.5 thousand pigs of Canadian Genesus genetics. The document was signed by Ihor Ushakov, Director of Strong Invest LLC, and Yevhen Shatokhin, Director of Genesus Ukraine.
According to the signed contract, Genesus Ukraine guarantees the supply of 3.5 thousand heads of purebred and hybrid pigs GP (Yorkshire) and F 1 (Yorkshire + Landrace) to the pig farms of KSG Agro in 2024. In addition, 30 heads of purebred boars of the Duroc and Landrace breeds will be supplied under the agreement. According to the contract, the first delivery of pigs is expected on March 1, 2024.
"We have repeatedly emphasized the qualitative advantages of Canadian Genesus pigs, which are superior to their European counterparts in terms of litter size, farrowing weight and meat quality," comments Sergiy Kasianov, Chairman of the Board of Directors at KSG Agro. "This year we will continue the process of updating the pig population, which began in 2023 and is aimed at improving the quality characteristics of the herd. These include improving the health of piglets and improving the taste of meat."

This once again proves in practice that pigs of Genesus genetics are hardy, grow quickly and develop well, producing the maximum possible number of kilograms of piglets per square meter of farm," said Yevhen Shatokhin, Genesus representative in Ukraine, founder of Genesus Ukraine and AGRIFOOD Consulting.
The main quality indicators of pigs of Canadian Genesus genetics are 2.55 farrowings per year, 16 piglets born, average weaning age - 21 days, average weaning weight - 6-6.3 kg, etc.
