KSG Agro has completed sowing sunflower on an area of 7.35 thousand hectares
KSG Agro has completed sowing sunflower on an area of 7.35 thousand hectares. This was reported by the press service of the agricultural holding with reference to Dmytro Yemelchenko, Head of the crop division at KSG Agro.
The farms that are part of the KSG Agro agricultural holding have completed sowing sunflower on a total area of 7.35 thousand hectares.
"This year's spring was not easy: in April we had heavy precipitation. In March-April, some of our farms received a six-month rainfall of 170 mm. Because of the rains, we could hardly go out to work in the fields in April," says Dmytro Yemelchenko. - "The rainy April resulted in weeds in the fields, which, unfortunately, meant additional costs for farmers. However, this weather provided a sufficient level of moisture in the soil, which is a favorable factor for the sowing campaign that started in May."
During the sowing campaign, three John Deere DB 55 sowing complexes with a capacity of 200 hectares per day were used.
Currently, the agricultural holding's farms have moved to a new stage of work: chemical and mechanical soil cultivation using mechanical cultivators and rotary harrows.
At the moment, moderate seedlings have sprouted on the fields of the agricultural holding, which are in good condition.
