KSG Agro has ensured uninterrupted operation of the pig complex during blackout
KSG Agro pig complex is fully secured with power supply for the duration of a possible blackout. In particular, mobile generating complexes with a total capacity of 1 MW are installed at the pig complex. This was announced during an online conference with journalists from Ukraine and Poland, as well as shareholders of the company, by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KSG Agro Sergiy Kaiyanov.
The farms that are part of KSG Agro and the pig complex are fully secured for stable operation during the blackout period. Thus, for the energy independence of the pig complex, six diesel generators, a mini-power plant and a diesel air heater with a total capacity of 1 MW were purchased for a total of about UAH 5 million.
"Our smooth operation in difficult wartime became possible thanks to a clear plan of energy and resource independence. The stakes in our business are high, because we are dealing with animals, pigs and piglets, and they require special breeding conditions, in particular, the temperature regime, - says Sergiy Kasianov, Chairman of the Board of Directors at KSG Agro. 8 years ago, we completely abandoned natural gas, so we provide heating with solid fuel boilers that operate on pellets of our own production. This year, the main development comes with an autonomous power supply allowing the pig complex to operate in the absence of electricity for a month. Also taken care of is the provision of electricity to the critical infrastructure of the village where our livestock facilities are located. We are talking about providing an alternative energy supply to the water supply system. For its electricity supply, we installed a powerful diesel generator at the pumping station, which allows all residents of the village even during outages to be with water, including many of our employees.
In addition to ensuring uninterrupted power supply, KSG Agro has formed a 10-day supply of water and a six-month supply of raw materials and premixes for the operation of the feed mill.
