KSG Agro to increase rapeseed crops by 22% in 2022
In 2022, KSG Agro will increase rapeseed crops by 22% This was reported by the press service of the agricultural holding, citing production director Dmitry Yemelchenko.
In 2022, KSG Agro agricultural holding will increase rapeseed crops by 22% – from 820 ha to at least 1,000 ha. Plantings of this crop went into wintering in excellent condition.
“Our strategy is to reach at least 1,000 hectares of rapeseed acreage,” comments Dmitry Yemelchenko. – The logic here is that rapeseed is a reliable predecessor for winter wheat. We harvest rapeseed in June and until mid-September, it allows you to prepare the soil well, accumulating a sufficient amount of moisture in it. As a result, the wheat that we sow on these sown areas gives good sprouts and has time to sprout.”
According to Dmitry Yemelchenko, the results of 2021 showed that wheat grown in areas where rapeseed was the predecessor helped an increase of 500 to 1,000 kg per hectare compared to that sown for sunflower.
